Dr. Kathy A. Banks
Dr. Banks received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University. She received her DMD from Temple University School of Dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Banks spent a year at University Hospital in Newark, NJ in a General Dental Residency program and then completed her 4 year specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Banks was awarded her Board Certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is an Attending Staff Member of the Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Community Medical Center. She is also a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International College of Implantologists and is active in numerous other professional organizations.
Dr. Banks is past president of the Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society & the NJ Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr.Banks has numerous publications and is a frequent presenter for continuing educationDr. Banks is Board Certified and Re-Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She has more than 15 years experience in treating patients of all ages. In addition to treating dental conditions such as “wisdom teeth”, she is qualified to treat pathologic conditions of the jaws and face, traumatic injuries, and performs advanced bone grafting techniques and dental implants. Most patients can be treated comfortably in the office setting using a variety of anesthetic techniques such as local anesthesia, nitrous oxide inhalation anesthesia, intravenous conscious sedation and general anesthesia. However, Dr. Banks holds hospital privileges in two hospitals, Jersey Shore University Hospital and Community Medical Center and does treat patients on an outpatient basis when necessary.
